Hum, they cannot keep drugs out of jail, but prohibition works! The logic of leviathan....

The Western Australia Government has defended its management of prisons following revelations almost 800 prisoners have tested positive to drugs.

State Opposition Leader Matt Birney says it is disgraceful so many inmates have gained access to drugs and it shows the government is mismanaging the prison system.

WA Justice Minister John D'Orazio says more inmates are testing positive to drugs because the prison population is increasing and more prisoners are being tested for drug use.

Mr D'Orazio says the Government has also introduced tighter measures to try to prevent drugs being smuggled into prison.

"We're doing a number of things - firstly we've increased the number of sniffer dogs, secondly we're doing more searches, thirdly we're doing more random searchers within the prison system," he said.
