The Australian Defence Force is expected today to receive the preliminary results of a probe into claims that nine officer cadets at Duntroon took illegal drugs.

In the army's latest scandal, military police raided the cadets' rooms at the Royal Military College Duntroon in Canberra yesterday following allegations by colleagues.

The seven men and two women, some of whom were in a class preparing for graduation, have been suspended from training and must submit urine samples which will be tested for traces of speed and ecstasy.

Duntroon's commandant, Brigadier Chris Appleton, said no drugs had been found at the college.

But Brig Appleton said he believed there was a case to answer and the Australian Federal Police had been notified of the investigation.
