Hong Kong, China In the run-up to World cup, over 90 people were arrested in connection with illegal soccer betting activities and over HK$60 million worth of soccer betting slips have been seized. All gambling activities are rendered illegal in Hong Kong except those authorized and exempted; punters and bookers alike are guilty of an offence and are liable on conviction.
