Kano, Nigeria Two men found guilty of drinking alcohol were whipped before large crowds, each receiving 80 lashes. Under Shariah, the strict Islamic law, anybody found guilty of permitting impurities to enter their body by imbibing an intoxicating substance (basically anything from beer to heroin) is to be whipped publicly 80 times.
