A bartender was arrested in his bedroom for having sex with a man after a police officer went looking for him for a missed court date. The charges were later dropped but the man took the case to the Supreme Court, where he lost in a 5-4 decision in 1986. The decision upheld a 19th century Georgia law and concluded that "homosexual sodomy is immoral and unacceptable."
